To become certified, he fulfilled the following conditions: at least five years of full-time legal practice; good standing in all states where he is licensed to practice law; at least 30% of his practice hours and 400 hours of bankruptcy-related work in the last three years; provided information on cases they practiced; earn at least 60 hours of bankruptcy education during the previous three years to show his commitment to continuing legal education; and pass a lengthy, all-day written exam covering consumer bankruptcy issues.
Coleman is a member of The Missouri Bar, the Kansas Bar Association, the Utah Bar Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He graduated with a Juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, an MBA from the Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Utah.
